Corrosion resistant RGO nickel nanocomposite coating by electro less plating
Advantages / Salient Technical Features
• Compared with electroplating, electro less plating can
be deposited on 3D objects, yield conformal coating
with good step coverage and not require power
supply.Incorporation of graphene oxide enhances the
properties of the coating unlike any other additive.
IMMT will also provide a tunable process where the
properties are required to be fine-tuned based on the
target application.
Problem being addressed
• Electro less nickel coatings possess superior
tribological properties such as high hardness,
good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
The requirement for further improvement in
performances with stringent specifications will be
catered by this nanocomposite coating.
Scale of Development
Environmental Considerations (if any) • 500ml to 10L scale (500L scale available for
application specific technology development)
• Employs approved and safe chemicals through benign (Current TRL Level : 04/05)
processes.
