Eight CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar Researchers In World's Top 2% Most Influential Scientists
Eight scien sts affiliated to CSIR-Ins tute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar have been listed in the
top 2% most influen al scien sts worldwide based on the Scopus publica ons impact.
Recent research performed by academics from Stanford University published a comprehensive list of the scien sts
who were selected on the basis of a subject-wise analysis which has been published by Elsevier.
The scien sts are Director Prof Suddhasatwa Basu; Chief Scien st Dr LD Besra; Dr Piyali Bhanja, Ramanujan Fellow, Dr
Bimal P. Singh, Emeritus Scien st, and Chief Scien sts re red from CSIR-IMMT Dr Biswesar Das, Dr S.B. Kanungo, Dr
S. Anand, Dr Kadambini Sarangi in the subject areas of Energy, Materials, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal &
Biomolecular Chemistry, Mining and Metallurgy respec vely.
CSIR-Ins tute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT) was established in 1964 as Regional Research
Laboratory, Bhubaneswar under the aegis of Council of Scien fic and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. It was
renamed in 2007 with a renewed research focus and growth strategy to be a leader in the areas of mineral & material
resource engineering.
